Wounded

Heart

If you are reading this then chances are you have been wounded by someone or some circumstance in your past. We have all had someone tell us things that might have left tiny wounds inside of us. Some of these things that were said or done have scarred us deeply while others may not have meant so much at the time.

If you are reading this then chances are you have been wounded by someone or some circumstance in your past. We have all had someone tell us things that might have left tiny wounds inside of us. Some of these things that were said or done have scarred us deeply while others may not have meant so much at the time.

In the physical world if we get wounded maybe on our arm, leg or wherever it leaves a sore. That sore is painful it is open and could get infected. However, what happens when we take care of the wound and we address it? It begins to heal. When a wound begins to heal and the scabs go away then a scar is formed. Medical research shows us that when a scare is formed the skin is actually stronger than the skin that was there before. When someone has a scar I often wonder, what happened to give the person that scar. People will often think the same of us and our scars.

You may be thinking, “Eric, what is the point?” Okay, the point I am making is this. We have all been wounded and it depends on what we do with those wounds on an emotional level that will determine how we move forward. I also believe that God allows things to happen to us and to forge us to show us what kind of person we are capable of being. I believe that we all have gifts inside of us. I believe that through our own wounds we can allow others to heal by telling our story.

Have people ever asked you about a scar that you may have? If they do then you have a story and if you have a story then you have the potential to help others heal from what you have experienced. I believe that God uses circumstances of others as a tool to bring healing to others. So with that said, if we have gifts inside of us and we are not using those gifts then we are indirectly causing more suffering in this world. We are called to share and help others in need. So I want to leave you with a few thoughts. Do you think that someone else has had similar wounds that you may have had? Are you finding ways to help others? One of the ways I have found to heal from an emotional wound is to help someone through their pain by using mine. It takes courage, but, I believe you will find freedom in helping someone else rather than keeping that gift inside.

Each week I work to build upon each post. Please subscribe here for weekly insight and tips on finding your gifts and moving forward from an emotional wound and how to turn your scar into a story. I also will begin to show you how to turn your passion for helping others into a profit.
